[11-06-2022] Two Children Killed and Three Injured Following Suspected DUI Collision in Santa MariaA suspected DUI collision killed two kids and left three injured in northwest Santa Maria on Sunday night, November 6, 2022.

The fatal collision occurred around 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of North Blosser Road and West Alvin Avenue.

The authorities reported that the man and woman were taken to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Meanwhile, their three children, all younger than ten, were thrown from the vehicle.

Two of their kids, ages 10 and 2, were rushed to the hospital and declared dead. The third child was airlifted to a hospital outside the area.

No one knew the identities or conditions of the injured.

The 30-year-old driver, Hector E., 30, and the only occupant of the other vehicle, was detained and booked into the Northern Branch Jail for non-negligent manslaughter and drunk driving.

He was still being held on Tuesday with a $2 million bail.
