[11-07-2022] Man Detained After DUI Collision in ReddingOne man was arrested following a DUI collision between two vehicles near downtown Redding Monday morning, November 7, 2022.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 10:00 a.m. at South Market Street and Grange Street.

The police were alerted of a possible drunk driver driving north on South Market Street just before the collision.

Authorities confirmed that it was the exact vehicle involved in the crash.

The 53-year-old man, Paul G., one of the drivers, was not hurt but displayed signs of intoxication.

According to police, Paul G. struck a vehicle also moving north on South Market Street while driving at a high speed.

The other vehicle’s occupant complained of pain but was not hospitalized.

The suspect was later arrested for drunk driving and taken to the Shasta County Jail.
