Authorities reported that the crash transpired at around 10:00 a.m. close to the Highway 50 overpass on Placerville Drive.

The 62-year-old driver, Randall W., a resident of Pollock Pines, was allegedly driving under the influence.

He was driving a GMC Sierra 2500 when the vehicle slammed into a Toyota Camry.

The Toyota’s driver sustained minor wounds and was immediately taken to Marshall Hospital.

Meanwhile, police officers took the 62-year-old driver into custody.

Investigations on the collision are still underway.
