[11-13-2021] Kings County, CA – One Person Killed, Another Injured After a Deadly Multi-Vehicle Collision near Salem Avenue

An unidentified 74-year-old man was killed while another person was injured after a multi-vehicle collision near Salem Avenue on Saturday morning, November 13, 2021.

The deadly crash transpired at approximately 8:00 a.m. in the area of Dairy Avenue near Salem Avenue.

A Freightliner semi-truck struck a Caterpillar backhoe that was traveling on the shoulder of a dirt road near Salem Avenue. Due to the severity of the impact, the 74-year-old man driving the Caterpillar backhoe was ejected from his vehicle.

A few moments after the initial crash, a passing truck hit both the semi-truck and the Caterpillar backhoe.

The driver of the Caterpillar was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver was taken to Kaweah Health Medical Center with minor injuries. The third driver was unhurt in the mishap.
