[11-14-2021] San Joaquin County, CA – One Person Killed, Four Others Injured After a DUI Crash in Stockton

An older woman was killed while four others were hurt after a major DUI crash near Stockton on Sunday night, November 14, 2021.

[11-14-2021] San Joaquin County, CA - One Person Killed, Four Others Injured After a DUI Crash in StocktonThe fatal crash happened at the intersection of South Gertrude Avenue and Horner Avenue in Stockton at approximately 8:45 p.m.

A pickup truck was traveling at high speeds on S. Gertrude Avenue and rn a red light at the intersection. The pickup truck then crashed into the passenger side of an SUV. The SUV then crashed into a home after the initial collision.

An 84-year-old woman that was inside the SUV was killed in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the SUV driver was rushed to an area hospital with major injuries.

Three people inside the home were also injured in the crash. The severity of their injuries has not been disclosed.

The pickup truck driver was later identified as Juan C. and was arrested on felony hit and run charges resulting in injury or death, DUI causing bodily injury, and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

His bail was set at $1.6 million. The case is currently under further investigation.
