A suspect of a stolen vehicle was killed, while a motorcyclist was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision and vehicle fire in Malibu on Monday afternoon, November 14, 2022.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the collision happened after 12:00 p.m. along the Pacific Coast Highway and Kanan Dume Road.
According to Lt. Jordan of the LASD, the car that caught fire was a 2017 Lexus NX stolen earlier that day.
Following the carjacking, the driver accelerated at high speed and crashed into a truck and a motorcycle. The driver, who recently finished rehab, died in the collision.
The motorcyclist was injured and transported to the hospital. His identity and condition remained unknown. It was also unclear whether anyone inside the truck was hurt.
All PCH lanes at Kanan Dume Road and the southbound side at Cornell Road were closed as the investigation continued.
