Two women were injured following a two-vehicle collision in East Long Beach on Monday afternoon, November 14, 2022.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the collision occurred at 12:32 p.m. near Wardlow Road and Bellflower Boulevard.
Long Beach police officers and firefighters arrived at the scene to discover two overturned vehicles with two people trapped inside.
According to Brian Fisk, a spokesman for the Long Beach Fire Department, they helped with the extraction of the two women from their cars.
Fisk said one of the two women was taken by fire officials to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The second woman, who needed basic life support, was not seriously hurt.
According to LBPD spokesperson Brandon Fahey, northbound traffic on Bellflower Boulevard was briefly shut down but was later reopened.
Officers are looking into what caused the collision.
