A train collides with a person or vehicle every two hours. A train accident claims more than a thousand lives every year. Six hundred people died as a result of about 2,300 injuries.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, more pedestrians are killed in train accidents than in car accidents. 50% of all fatal train accidents result from faulty crossings, outdated safety features, and a lack of warning systems for motorists.

Trains are the most effective form of transportation. Two variables that affect employee and passenger safety are the conductors’ abilities and the required frequency of repairs. They are dangerous because they could be irresponsible or use bad shortcuts.

Over 7,200 people have died in train accidents in the US since 1997. The leading cause of fatalities on American railroads is now train collisions with pedestrians, surpassing all other causes of death in the process.

Derailments, worn-out tracks, disregard for safety guidelines, lax security, and other types of negligence primarily cause train accidents.
