[11-17-2022] Three People Seriously Injured in Head-On Collision in ChicoCHP reported that three people were seriously injured following a head-on collision on Skyway in Chico on Thursday evening, November 17, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 5:15 p.m. on the westbound Skyway near Santa Rosa Road.

Ethan W., 20, of Chico, was traveling at an unknown speed on his 2009 Hyundai Accent when he inexplicably crossed over the center line and entered the eastbound lane.

The Hyundai collided head-on with a 2019 Ford F150 driven by Michael G., a 64-year-old resident of Magalia. He sustained major injuries due to the impact.

The responders arrived at the crash to find the Hyundai driver and his 18-year-old passenger, Tyler V. of Chico, sustaining major injuries. All three were taken to Enloe Medical Center.

The officers stated they were unsure if distracted driving or driving under the influence played a role in this collision as the investigation continued.
