[11-17-2022] Five People Killed in Head-On Collision in PittsburgFive people were killed following a head-on collision in Pittsburg on Thursday morning, November 17, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involving a wrong-way driver occurred at 12:10 a.m. on Highway 4, east of the Loveridge Road junction.

Investigation revealed that a Hyundai Elantra with four occupants inside, three of whom were children, was traveling the wrong way west on Highway 4 when it collided head-on with a Ford SUV driven by a solo driver.

All five occupants of both vehicles died at the scene. There was no information available regarding their identities.

As the investigation continued, it was unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role.
