[11-17-2022] Pedestrian Injured by Vehicle in Downtown SonoraAuthorities said a pedestrian was injured after getting struck by a vehicle in downtown Sonora on Thursday afternoon, November 17, 2022.

According to the Sonora Police Department, the vehicle vs. pedestrian collision occurred around 12:00 p.m. at the South Washington Street or Highway 49 and Jackson Street intersection.

The Sonora Police reported that the pedestrian sustained injuries, but they did not release further information on the victim’s identity and condition. There were no details on the vehicle that struck the pedestrian.

That portion of the road was closed for roughly ten minutes as the officers rerouted traffic surrounding the area.

The police are looking into the collision, including whether alcohol or drug played a role.
