[11-23-2021] San Luis Obispo County, CA – One Person Killed After a Deadly Car Crash in Santa Margarita

An unidentified 76-year-old man was killed after a deadly two-vehicle crash in Santa Margarita on Tuesday evening, November 23, 2021.

A GMC Sierra pickup truck crashed into the left side of a tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer was initially making a U-turn prior to the crash, blocking both sides of the highway.

The pickup truck driver was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the mishap. The identities of both drivers have not been disclosed.

An active investigation of the crash is currently underway. Authorities will attempt to determine the factors and the liability in the accident.
