[11-23-2022] One Child Killed Two Injured Following DUI Crash in Moreno Valley FreewayA suspected DUI collision killed one child and injured two more on the Moreno Valley (215) Freeway in Riverside early Wednesday morning, November 23, 2022.

Authorities reported that the fatal crash occurred around 12:33 a.m. at Blaine Street southbound of Interstate 215.

Reports state that a 2018 Kia Optima driver approached a 1997 GMC pickup truck in the slow lane when the pickup truck encountered mechanical difficulties, causing the driver to pull toward the shoulder.

Eventually, the Kia struck the GMC and overturned onto the roadway.

A 3-year-old Kia passenger died after succumbing to her injuries.

Responders arrived at the scene and found another 3-year-old victim seriously injured.

The Kia driver received minor injuries. Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver was unharmed.

Alcohol was determined to be a factor in this crash.

An arrest was not expected, nor was any additional information provided.

Investigations are still underway.
