[11-23-2022] 33-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies After Collision on Interstate 5A 33-year-old man was killed following a collision involving one vehicle near downtown Sacramento Wednesday morning, November 23, 2022.

The deadly collision reportedly occurred just before 12:15 a.m. on Interstate 5.

Reports state that the Ford Mustang driver was merging from I Street when the pedestrian crossed the freeway from east to west.

The 32-year-old driver swerved but was unable to avoid the pedestrian.

When authorities arrived, the 33-year-old victim, Anthony Ray D., was declared dead on the scene after he was thrown into the right shoulder of the road.

The driver remained at the scene and waited for responders to arrive.

According to authorities, the driver was not intoxicated.

Further investigations on the cause of the crash are still ongoing.
