[11-23-2022] Woman Killed in North Highlands Pedestrian AccidentAuthorities said a woman was killed after crossing in front of a moving vehicle in North Highlands late Wednesday afternoon, November 23, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 5:41 p.m. on Watt Avenue south of Winona Way.

The woman reportedly crossed the street outside any marked crosswalks and directly in front of the van moving northbound in the third lane of Watt Avenue.

The woman suffered major injuries due to the collision and was declared dead by the responders.

According to CHP, the driver was working with the authorities, and there was no indication that DUI had a role in the collision.
