[11-24-2022] Alameda County, CA - One Killed Three Injured Following Head-On Collision in LivermoreOne passenger was fatally struck, and three were injured after a two-vehicle collision on a rural road in Livermore Thursday afternoon, November 24, 2022.

Authorities reported that the deadly crash transpired around 12:45 p.m. on Altamont Pass Road, about a third of a mile east of the Greenville Road intersection.

Reports state that a Honda Civic driver traveling 40 to 50 mph crossed the solid double-yellow lines to pass slower traffic.

The Civic collided with an approaching Toyota Prius traveling between 40 and 50 mph as it was approaching from the east while in the westbound lane.

Despite responders’ immediate efforts, the Civic’s passenger succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision.

The Civic’s driver suffered severe wounds.

Meanwhile, the Prius’s driver and a 13-year-old passenger were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment after suffering minor to moderate injuries.

The victims’ names were not immediately released.

Alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the deadly crash.

Further investigations are still ongoing.
