An unidentified man was killed after a deadly two-vehicle collision near Los Banos on Thursday night, November 25, 2021.

[11-25-2021] Merced County, CA - One Person Killed After a Deadly Two-Vehicle Collision in Los BanosThe fatal accident transpired at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Interstate 5 near Cottonwood Road in Los Banos.

A northbound vehicle was passing cars on Interstate 5 at high speeds when the driver swerved into the center median.

The vehicle then returned to the fire lane and collided with another car. Because of the intensity of the accident, the speeding car veered off the road and rolled down a steep incline before colliding with a Caltrans fence line.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased and the other involved parties has not been disclosed.

It’s unclear whether intoxication played a role in the crash. The case is currently under further investigation.
