A 17-year-old girl was airlifted to a trauma center after being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of a Target store in Hesperia on Monday evening, November 25, 2024.
The incident occurred at the Target located at 12795 Main Street, where the teen had arranged to sell a cell phone. Inside the store, the prospective buyer, reportedly a woman, snatched the phone and fled.
The teen chased the suspect outside, where she was struck by the suspect’s vehicle in the parking lot. Authorities have not confirmed whether additional accomplices were in the suspect’s vehicle.
The injured teen was loaded onto a gurney before being airlifted to a nearby trauma center. Her condition remains unknown.
Detectives with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the incident. They have not disclosed how many suspects are being sought or whether any arrests have been made.
