Three people were killed after a deadly head-on crash involving a suspected drunk driver on early Friday morning, November 26, 2021.

[11-26-2021] Kern County, CA - Three People Killed After a Deadly DUI Crash on the Weedpatch HighwayThe deadly collision transpired at approximately 2:27 a.m. in the southbound lanes of SR-184 on the Weedpatch Highway, north of Smith Road.

A Jeep Cherokee was initially traveling in the southbound lanes but later crossed into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a northbound Toyota Corolla.

The Corolla driver, and their two passengers, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jeep Cherokee driver was later identified as 38-year-old Marcia L. She was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to Khan Medical for treatment.

Authorities later determined that she was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. She has been placed under arrest.
