[11-30-2022] 31-Year-Old Hospitalized After a Pedestrian Accident in SoquelA 31-year-old male pedestrian was injured and hospitalized after being hit by a car in Soquel, Santa Cruz County, on Wednesday evening, November 30, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened shortly before 6:48 p.m. on State Route 1 south of the Park Avenue interchange.

The pedestrian from Watsonville was reportedly walking in the northbound lanes of the highway when he was struck by a 61-year-old female driver from Capitola.

The victim was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital while the driver stopped and remained at the site.

It remained unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision as the investigation by the CHP continued.
