[11-30-2023] San Joaquin County, CA – 32-Year-Old Killed, Another Hospitalized After Truck vs. Vehicle Crash on I-205 in Tracy

A 32-year-old man was killed, and a 32-year-old woman was hospitalized after a truck vs. vehicle collision in Tracy late Thursday night, November 30, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 10:30 p.m. along Interstate 205 near the North MacArthur Drive offramp.

Reports say that a sedan was stopped and disabled near El Rancho Road on the westbound freeway. The man and the woman got out of another sedan that pulled up in front of it to assist.

The disabled sedan moved again, reversed into the right shoulder, and entered lane 3. An oncoming Freightliner big rig rear-ended the sedan as it backed up, with both the man and woman shortly being hit by the truck.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. A DUI arrest was ultimately made against the driver of the sedan.

It is unclear why the driver reversed the vehicle suddenly. There are no further details about the collision as investigations continue.
