Two people were killed following a deadly two-vehicle traffic collision in Cajon Pass on early Wednesday morning, December 1, 2021.

[12-01-2021] San Bernardino County, CA - Two People Killed After a Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash in Cajon PassThe fatal collision happened at around 4:04 a.m. on the northbound lanes of Interstate 15 Freeway, south of Oak Hill Road.

A Mitsubishi reportedly stopped in the no. 2 lane for unclear reasons and was later rear-ended by a northbound vehicle on the I-15 Freeway.

Due to the severity of the impact, the Mitsubishi caught fire. The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames while the driver was still inside. The

Mitsubishi driver was fatally injured in the crash; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 60-year-old passenger in the Mitsubishi sustained serious injuries and was rushed to an area hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The accident is under further investigation. Witnesses that can give more information about the crash are urged to call the California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Station at 909-383-4247.
