A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Coronado on Friday evening, December 1, 2023.

According to the Coronado Police Department, the fatal collision happened around 6:50 p.m. in the 1000 block of Fifth Street, two blocks from the Coronado Holiday Parade route.

The unidentified pedestrian was between two parked cars when a driver struck the victim, who was later declared dead.

The driver remained at the scene while authorities investigated the cause of the collision. DUI was dismissed as a factor, but it was not confirmed if the victim died at the scene or in a hospital.
