[12-03-2022] Truck Driver Killed in Fiery Accident Involving Hit-and-Run Drivers in OaklandA truck driver was killed after getting trapped when his truck caught fire following a hit-and-run collision in Oakland on early Saturday morning, December 03, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 1:00 a.m. along Interstate 880 near Broadway.

The tractor-trailer was delivering USPS packages when one of two vehicles racing on the highway slammed into it, setting the truck on fire after it flipped over.

The cars involved were a white Ford Crown Victoria sedan and a dark-colored sedan. The white one attempted to pass the truck and crashed into the driver’s side.

The truck driver got trapped in the vehicle, could not escape, and died on the spot. The car driver fled the scene after getting picked up by another car.

The deceased driver’s name has not been made public by the authorities, while the deadly crash is being looked into as a hit-and-run by the CHP.

According to USPS representatives, the parcels on the truck were on their way to an airport for out-of-state destinations, and they are currently working to recover the packages.
