[12-04-2022] Motorcyclist Killed After Colliding with Semi-Truck Near LamontOne motorcyclist died after crashing into a semi-truck in Lamont, Kern County, Sunday, December 4, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. on Bear Mountain Boulevard and South Edison Road.

Reports indicate that the 43-year-old semi-truck driver was driving westbound and made a left turn onto south Edison Road ahead of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist crossed over traffic in the left lane, ran into the Peterbilt semi-truck, then crashed at the intersection for an unknown reason.

Responders arrived on the scene and rendered medical aid to the motorcyclist, but he succumbed to his injuries and died.

Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver did not suffer any injuries.

It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the collision.

The crash is still being investigated.
