[12-05-2021] San Bernardino County, CA – Firefighter Injured After Getting Struck by Vehicle in Barstow

A firefighter was seriously hurt after getting hit by a speeding vehicle in Barstow on early Sunday morning, December 5, 2021.

The accident happened at around 3:26 a.m. on Interstate 15 between the L Street and Highway 58 exits.

A Barstow fire crew was initially treating patients at the scene. As they were starting to clean up and prepare to leave, a speeding vehicle suddenly struck one of the firefighters.

The firefighter sustained serious injuries in the crash. He was immediately treated at the scene before getting airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center. He was listed in critical condition.

Additional information about the accident is limited at the moment. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed.
