[12-05-2022] One Killed After Being Struck by Tow Truck and Big Rig Along Highway 165A big rig and a tow truck were involved in a multi-vehicle crash that killed one man in Merced County on Monday night, December 5, 2022.

Authorities reported that the fatal collision occurred around 5:45 p.m. along Highway 165 and American Avenue.

Reports state that a tow truck rear-ended a 28-year-old driver waiting for a left turn.

The collision forced the car to collide with a large rig traveling the opposite way.

A medical team was dispatched and transported the victim to a hospital, where he died.

Meanwhile, neither the big rig driver nor the tow truck driver was injured.

It is still unclear what caused the collision.
