[12-05-2022] Police Detective Rear-Ended Vehicle, Killing Two People on Interstate 5Two people were killed after a police detective struck them on Interstate 5 in Sacramento Monday morning, December 5, 2022.

Reports confirmed that the fatal crash transpired around 9:36 a.m. near Sutterville Road.

According to authorities, a male driver in a white Dodge pickup pulled over on the road’s right shoulder after experiencing vehicle problems.

A second man driving a maroon Toyota SUV pulled over on the left-hand side of the Sutterville Road on-ramp.

In an unmarked black Ford Fusion, the investigator was driving along the left side of the Dodge when he struck the car’s left rear.

As a result, he struck the two victims for an unknown reason.

Responders rushed to the scene and pronounced one of the victims dead.

Meanwhile, the other victim died during transport to an area hospital.

Investigations are still underway to determine what caused the collision.
