A 75-year-old man identified as Elliot U. was killed after a fatal two-vehicle crash in Murrieta on Monday evening, December 6, 2021.

A medical supply van was traveling on the No. 3 lane at 60 mph. The van driver attempted to apply the brakes as it encountered slowing traffic. Unfortunately, the vehicle ended up veering towards the right shoulder.

The medical supply van then crashed into a parked 2009 Nissan Maxima on the right shoulder. The van struck the left end of the Nissan, seriously injuring one of the passengers in the rear of the van.

One person was fatally injured in the crash and was taken to Wildomar’s Inland Valley Medical Center. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the van driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Murrieta’s Rancho Springs Medical Center for treatment. The Nissan driver was uninjured in the crash.

An active investigation of the case is currently underway.
