[12-06-2022] Three People Injured, Including One Responder, in Sonora RV CrashAuthorities said three people were injured in an RV crash in Sonora on Tuesday morning, December 06, 2022.

The Sonora Police Department reported that the crash occurred before 11:00 a.m. at the Hope Lane and Lyons Street intersection.

Responders arrived at the scene to find the RV on its side, leaning partially against a rock wall.

Its brakes reportedly failed, and when it tried to turn into Hope Lane, it turned over and smashed into the wall. It was discovered later that the occupants were aware of the brake’s malfunction.

The male driver was stuck inside the wreckage, but a female passenger escaped. Both of them were brought to Adventist Health Sonora.

The driver was then transported to a Valley trauma center for major injuries that were nevertheless not threatening. One officer who extricated the driver also got slightly injured.

The busy crossroad was closed for roughly four hours as removing the wreckage proved difficult. The crash is still being investigated.
