[12-07-2021] Stanislaus County, CA – Six People Injured After a DUI Crash in Ceres

Six people were hurt following a major traffic crash involving a DUI driver in Ceres on Tuesday evening, December 7, 2021. The traffic accident transpired at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Service Road near Highway 99 in Ceres.

[12-07-2021] Stanislaus County, CA - Six People Injured After a DUI Crash in CeresAn eastbound 1998 Ford SUV was traveling on Service Road while a large Freightliner truck was heading westbound. The SUV then entered the westbound lanes for unknown reasons and drove directly in front of the Freightliner truck followed by a 2021 Dodge pickup.

The Ford sideswiped the large truck. Due to the severity of the impact, the Ford continued to the freeway overpass, where it collided head-on with a Dodge pickup and overturned.

Six people were injured as a result of the collision. The Ford SUV driver, identified as 52-year-old Anselmo J., sustained major injuries in the crash and was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.

The 65-year-old Freightliner truck driver identified as Jaime M. and the 25-year-old Dodge pickup driver identified as Elio M. both sustained minor injuries in the mishap and were taken to Doctors Medical Center and Memorial.

Meanwhile, three other people inside the Dodge pickup were extricated in the wreckage and sustained minor to major injuries. They were also taken to respective area hospitals to receive treatment.

Authorities later determined that the Ford SUV driver may have been under the influence at the time of the accident. He was arrested for DUI-related charges.
