[12-09-2022] Two-Vehicle Collision in Tehama and Glenn Border Kills One and Injures AnotherOne person was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle collision at the Tehama and Glenn County borders on Friday afternoon, December 09, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol Red Bluff, the deadly crash occurred around 4:10 p.m. at the Malton Switch Road and County Road P intersection.

The crash involved 59-year-old Maria W. from Corning traveling in a Chevrolet Camaro north on County Road P at an unknown speed and 60-year-old Patrick D. from Chico traveling in a Ford Transit west on Malton Switch.

Wilfong allegedly failed to give the right of way and slammed into Dempsey. She was declared dead on the spot while Dempsey was airlifted via helicopter to a hospital for suffering major injuries.

According to the CHP, drunk driving is not considered a contributing factor to the collision while the investigation continues.
