A 9-year-old girl was killed while three others were hurt after a deadly rear-end crash in Desert Hot Springs on Thursday evening, December 9, 2021.

A white Cadillac rear-ends a school bus at the intersection. The Cadillac also struck four students from Julius Corsini Elementary School.

The students walked home from a bus stop when the Cadillac struck them. The vehicle also knocked down a speed limit sign in the crash.

Unfortunately, one of the students, a 9-year-old girl, was killed in the crash. The three other students were injured in the crash. Two of them sustained major injuries while one suffered minor injuries; they were all taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The Cadillac driver was arrested following the accident. He was identified as 87-year-old Robert H. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run causing death. He is currently being held at John Benoit Detention Center.

An active investigation of the crash is currently underway.
