[12-10-2022] Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 17 in Lexington Hills Kills One DriverA female driver was killed following a two-vehicle crash in Lexington Hills, Santa Clara County, on Saturday morning, December 10, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 9:16 a.m. on Highway 17 at Idylwild Road.

A black 2013 Toyota driven by a 27-year-old woman from Los Gatos stopped at a stop sign while traveling west on Idylwild. The driver then made a left turn to enter the southbound lanes of the highway.

A gray Ford Mustang driven by a 51-year-old man from Livermore was traveling north on the highway and into the path of the Toyota, causing it to hit the Toyota’s driver’s side.

The woman was found to have critical injuries and was taken to Valley Medical Center, where she passed away the following day at midnight. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner Coroner’s Office has withheld her name until the family is notified.

The Mustang driver stopped at the scene of the collision. It is unclear whether he also sustained any injuries. The two drivers were wearing seatbelts, and there was no obvious indication either was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
