One person was injured following a traffic crash involving an Eastern Sierra Unified School District bus near Bridgeport on Monday evening, December 13, 2021.

An Eastern Sierra Unified School District bus carrying eight students lost control for unclear reasons and veered across the centerline. The bus then struck an oncoming Toyota Tacoma.

A passenger inside the Toyota was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated by emergency personnel. The trapped passenger sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The bus driver and the eight students in the bus were uninjured in the crash. Information about the crash is limited at the moment.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
