Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision Statistics

Many people in California die from unintentional injuries because of motor vehicle accidents. More than 3,000 people were killed when their cars got into a car accident in California last year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says. Over 100,000 people were killed by their injuries in California last year. In 2018, 48 of those people died.

With so many cars on the same roads, there will be traffic jams, gridlock, and (most importantly) car accidents, both fatal accidents and those that cause severe injuries.

When three or more cars collide, accidents like this occur. The chain-reaction crashes often cause accidents when one vehicle impacts another, leading to the possibility of a third vehicle being hit. Accidents involving multiple vehicles are often fatal and complicated to deal with.

There are many common causes of these accidents, such as drunk driving, speeding, and distracted driving.
