Two big rigs were involved in a collision[12-14-2022] Big Rig Crash on Interstate 880 Causes Injuries that caused injuries in Oakland on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash transpired around 11:23 a.m. on Interstate 880 at Hegenberger Road.

Initially, the three northbound left lanes were closed, but a short time later, all roads were closed, and injuries were reported.

Authorities have not released further information on their conditions.

Reports state that the traffic quickly backed up near San Leandro, with automobiles passing in a single line on the right shoulder.

Tractor trailers could use I-580 westbound in Oakland until the crash reopened the interstate.

The accident follows an earlier I-880 southbound disaster at High Street, which halted traffic on the freeway barely an hour before.

According to the CHP, the roadway reopened before 2 p.m. Drivers were warned to expect minor delays.

Investigations on the crash are still underway.
