[12-17-2022] Male Bicyclist Killed After Car Crash on Highway 99A 64-year-old male bicyclist was killed in a car crash in Sacramento on Saturday morning, December 17, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly crash occurred at 5:05 a.m. on southbound Highway 99 north of Mack Road in South Sacramento.

The victim from Zanesville, Ohio, was reportedly hit by a Mazda heading southbound on State Route 99 at roughly 65 mph.

The biker was found lying in the southbound 99’s center median with major injuries. He passed away on the spot.

The collision damaged the car’s front end and driver’s side. Investigators think the car’s driver was unaware that he had struck a cyclist.

According to officials, the driver remained at the site and assisted investigators. Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as causes of the collision.
