[12-18-2022] One Person Killed in Train Accident in MantecaOne person was killed after getting struck by a train in Manteca on Sunday afternoon, December 18, 2022.

According to the Manteca Police Department, the fatal crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. along the train lines west of Union Road.

No other details on the identification of the victim were released. Fortunately, no train crew members were hurt, said the Union Pacific.

At the time of the crash, the train crossings at North Walnut Avenue, West Center Street, and South Union Road were all closed. By 8:30 p.m., all train crossings resumed operation.

Since the crash is still being investigated by the Union Pacific Police Department, it is currently unknown what caused it.
