One unidentified person was hurt after a bicycle accident in Chula Vista on Sunday morning, December 19, 2021.

A southbound bicyclist was traveling on Bay Boulevard when a gray Toyota Corolla suddenly rear-ended him for unclear reasons.

Police confirmed a possible miscommunication between the Toyota driver and the bicyclist, which caused the crash.

The bicycle rider sustained minor injuries in the crash and was immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.

Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the accident.
