Reports confirmed that the collision transpired around 5:30 a.m. on eastbound Jackson Road and Sunrise Boulevard.

Authorities state that a white Toyota Tacoma was heading east when the victim walked on the road and was struck by the driver.

The Tacoma’s front-end damage was evident as it prepared to be towed.

Paramedics responded and pronounced the 31-year-old victim, Oscar M., dead on the scene.

Meanwhile, the Tacoma driver suffered minor injuries and cooperated with the investigation.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the crash.

The collision prompted traffic delays on Monday morning. Lanes that had previously been closed have reopened.
