One unidentified person was killed following a deadly car crash in Bakersfield on Monday morning, December 20, 2021.

[12-21-2021] Kern County, CA - One Person Killed After a Deadly Car Crash in BakersfieldThe accident occurred on southbound Highway 99, just south of Highway 223 in Bakersfield, at approximately 8:00 a.m.

One vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree. It’s unclear what caused the driver to lose control of their car. The engine block of that vehicle became detached and later caught fire.

One person was killed in the accident. It’s unclear whether there were other people injured. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed.
