[12-21-2022] One Killed, Seven Other Injured After Two-Vehicle Collision Near Clovis AvenueA two-vehicle collision killed one woman and injured three adults and four youngsters in Fresno County on Wednesday morning, December 21, 2022.

Reports confirmed that the fatal crash transpired around 10:00 a.m. on Jefferson Avenue and Clovis Avenue.

A Chevy Malibu was going southbound when Mercedes Benz was either on Clovis Avenue driving northbound or performed a u-turn in front of the Malibu, or was on Jefferson Avenue and immediately crossed over in the path of the Malibu for unknown reasons.

As a result, the Malibu slammed front-on with the Mercedes on the right side.

Responders arrived at the scene and used the Jaws of Life to extricate the occupants in the Mercedes.

Everyone in the vehicles suffered significant critical injuries in the incident, and one adult female died.

Two kids in the Mercedes are in critical condition, while the other two suffered severe injuries and were transferred to a nearby hospital. They ranged in age from two to four years.

Two people were also in critical condition. The other individuals involved, including Malibu’s driver, were seriously injured.

According to authorities, drugs and alcohol were not a factor in this crash but an error of the Mercedes driver.

The vehicle was reportedly overloaded by two persons and lacked two car seats for two of the children.

It is unclear whether the children were sitting on the laps of the adults or chairs, causing the collision.
