[12-22-2022] 44-Year-Old Man Injured in University City Pedestrian AccidentA 44-year-old male pedestrian was injured after being hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk in San Diego on Thursday morning, December 22, 2022.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash transpired at 7:32 a.m. at the Campus Point Drive and Genesee Avenue intersection in the University City neighborhood.

The crash involved a Toyota Prius going northbound on Campus Point and turning right to eastbound Genesee when the driver failed to yield to a pedestrian crossing the street at a crosswalk.

The victim sustained injuries that are thankfully non-life-threatening and was transported to a nearby hospital. The 34-year-old female driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the responders.

As the investigation continued, there was no evidence of drunk driving contributing to the crash. Anyone who may have seen the collision is urged to call the San Diego police.
