Two-Vehicle Collision Statistics

Every sixty seconds, someone dies in a car accident somewhere in the country. Millions of cars drive on U.S. roads every day doesn’t surprise us.

Every year, at least four million people in the United States are hurt because of these accidents on the roads. According to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) of the U.S. Department of Transportation, 33,654 fatal car accidents in 2018 killed 36,560 people.

People get into these accidents for many reasons, like when they’re distracted, drunk, or tired.

The driver who caused the accident is responsible for paying the other people involved in the accident, such as those who were hurt in the accident. If there is an accident, blame depends on which driver was negligent and caused the accident. There are times when both drivers are to blame for a car accident. Even if this happens, one driver might still get financial compensation from the other driver.
