[12-23-2022] Fresno County, CA – Car Crash Caused by Stolen Vehicle Results in Possible Injuries on a Family

Authorities reported possible injuries among a family in a car crash caused by a stolen vehicle in Fresno on Friday afternoon, December 23, 2022.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the two-vehicle collision occurred around 2:50 p.m. at Delno Street and Indianapolis Street in Fig Garden.

The crash involved a stolen SUV occupied by three minors under 18 years old that slammed into a car occupied by a man, a woman, and a child.

The SUV was first spotted by an officer who tried to pull it over. The car sped off, but a pursuit did not ensue because it was moving at such high speeds and was being driven so recklessly.

It was followed by a helicopter and was reported to be speeding around Fresno streets until it went past a stop sign and crashed into the family who was leaving their house to deliver a Christmas gift.

The kids tried to grab a ride from another motorist but were stopped and arrested by the police.

The extent of possible injuries sustained by the people involved remains unclear as the investigation continues.
