[12-23-2022] Two Occupants Killed After Two-Vehicle Crash Near Avenue 9A two-vehicle crash resulted in the death of two people near Fresno on Thursday morning, December 23, 2022.

The deadly collision reportedly transpired around 6:30 a.m. on Avenue 9 east of Road 40.

Authorities reported that an automobile had passed over double yellow lines and into the other lane of traffic, directly into the path of another oncoming sedan.

The first sedan was thrown onto one shoulder, while the second vehicle was thrown into the opposite shoulder.

According to authorities, the first driver, a 28-year-old Sacramento resident, was not wearing a seatbelt. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

One passenger in the second automobile, a 67-year-old Clovis resident, was critically injured and brought to the hospital. He later died due to his injuries.

Investigators are investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
