According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Harding Road near Highway 165.

A 69-year-old man was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Harding Road when he encountered a woman walking in the roadway. The front of the truck struck the woman, who succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The driver remained at the site of the crash and cooperated with authorities. CHP confirmed that the driver was not under the influence and was unharmed.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
