[12-24-2022] Plane Crash Near Livermore Airport Resulted in One InjuryA pilot was injured after a plane crashed into a property in Livermore on Saturday afternoon, December 24, 2022.

Reports indicate that the crash transpired around 4:55 p.m. near Livermore Municipal Airport on Rutan Drive.

Responders were dispatched after receiving calls of a small plane that crashed and came to rest at a commercial storage facility property.

According to the temporary airport manager, a local pilot had just taken off when their aircraft suddenly lost power. The jet abruptly landed on the airport’s clear zone property before coming to rest against a commercial structure.

The first arriving fire crews found that a single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza 35 with only the pilot aboard had crashed into a storage building, causing severe damage to the aircraft (and) requiring extended extrication efforts.

Authorities reported that the unidentified pilot was flown to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley by Falck Ambulance.

The pilot’s injuries were deemed non-life threatening.

The structure reportedly did not incur any damage.

The National Transportation Safety Board is looking into the cause of the crash.
