[12-24-2022] San Diego County, CA – Male Pedestrian Hospitalized After Old Town Train Accident

A male pedestrian was hospitalized after a train collision in San Diego on Saturday morning, December 24, 2022.

According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the crash occurred at the Old Town Transit Center at 4005 Taylor Street in Old Town.

The responders found the man lying in the gravel on the train tracks and brought him to a nearby trauma center for sustaining major injuries.

Officials claimed it is unclear how the individual got into the train’s path. The event is still being investigated, and the involved COASTER train was stopped on the tracks for several hours.

Representatives of the North County Transit District were called to the scene and arranged alternate transportation for the train’s passengers.

A California Highway Patrol advisory said Taylor Street near Pacific Highway was closed for roughly three hours.
